There are three chandeliers in the room Three Crowns, as a reference to the Swedish symbol three crowns and the three crowns on top of the City Hall Tower.
Above the portal at one end of the balcony in the Blue Hall, there is a bust of the City Hall’s architect, Ragnar Östberg. He is holding an early model of the City Hall in his hand.
From the Council Chamber, Stockholm is governed by the City Council. Among other things, the council decides on matters concerning schools, childcare, elderly care and city planning for the city of Stockholm.
Inlaid in the ground in the City Hall Park, close to the water, there is a relief depicting the Nix; a water spirit from Swedish folklore. The eyes of the figure move and during spring and summer, water bubbles from its mouth.

The coat of arms of Sweden by Einar Forseth, the artist behind the Golden Hall.
The capitals above the pillars in the Blue Hall are made by Aron Sandberg and depicts, among other things, different motifs from Swedish history and the construction of the City Hall.
The name the Blue Hall is a reference to water. Originally, the plan was the cover the bricks with a shimmering blue plaster but Östberg thought the red colour of the bricks was too beautiful to cover up.
The ceiling height in the Council Chamber is 19 meters. The ceiling was pained in only two months, around the end of 1921/beginning of 1922, since the City Council was eager to start using the room as soon as possible.
